Carol Tarr
Carol Tarr is an active teacher and performer in the Denver area. She maintains a studio of private students at her home in Lakewood, and is adjunct professor of Suzuki Cello Pedagogy at the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music.
Carol is active in the Suzuki movement around the United States. She has served as president of Suzuki Association of Colorado, Board of Directors of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and a twenty year member of the cello committee, working to revise the cello literature. She is currently working on a sub-committee of the SAA teacher development committee. In Jan, 2007, she received a Lifetime Service Award from Colorado String Teachers' Association.
Many of her former students are playing professionally as soloists, orchestra members and teachers of all levels. Carol loves to teach at summer institutes and workshops, which include five continents, over thirty-fives states in the US and five provinces in Canada.
